Mountain Resort Review: Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah

Montage Deer Valley, our last visit in Deer Valley, but certainly not the least.  At the very top of the mountain, the drive was absolutely gorgeous. The Montage offers a grand entrance and refined mountain lodge culture.  A hallmark of the resort is the highly personalized service, which makes you feel at home from the time you step on property.

@montagedeervalley promises a classic on-mountain getaway for all seasons. A must visit is the 35,000 square foot alpine inspired Spa Montage.  A little insider tip, a lot of women and especially moms choose to get ready for the day in the spa.  It’s such a fun way to make a menial task special without kids banging on the shower door. Who wouldn’t prefer to be in the relaxation room with a few minutes to yourself before the day begins?

Montage Deer Valley Room Tour

The size of the suite was the largest surprise to me, you could comfortably stay for an ample period of time when the layout feels similar to a residence.  The hallway, fireplace, soaking tub, and patio had me move in ready.

Beyond Skiiing

Montage Deer Valley has over 100+ trails where you can ski all around the property. The Montage is consistently ranked as one of the Best Ski Resort Hotels by Forbes. Montage offers much more than slope access, you can stay active off the slopes on the magic carpet. The onsite tubing hill  that has an incredible view over the mountains.  On a clear day, you can see Wyoming.

I don’t think there’s a better way to finish a day in the mountains then around a camp fire.  Enjoy year round marshmallow roasting from 4pm to 5pm in the winter months, and 8pm to 9pm in the summer.  And, these are not just any marshmallows, they are gourmet flavored marshmallows. Try caramel, vanilla bean, and mocha flavors with milk and dark chocolate options.

Traveling with Littles

Best for: families, groups, multi-generational trips focused on a wide range of activities

The Montage gets my vote for the best kid-friendly resort in Deer Valley.  Not only do they offer a kids club, daily transport to ski school, but they also have programs such as Montage Merits.  In this programs pins are awarded win kids conquer different activities.  It can be anything from skiing a green run or spotting wildlife.  And while this may be more for the mom’s enjoyment, the child sized robes are my absolute favorite.

The bowling alley and vintage arcade is next to the pub with dart boards catering towards older kids but I saw just as many adults enjoying some Pacman, so there truly is something for everyone.

Veuve Clicquot Apres Lounge

Choose from VC’s signature Yellow Label, rosé, or splurge on a bottle.  At $32 a glass of Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, it’s not budget-friendly, but the chic yurt atmosphere is certainly memorable. ⁣

Served in the iconic orange glass for a signature sip & ski experience at the base of @deervalleyresort

Not skiing?? You can access it right outside @montagedeervalley for a unique champagne yurt experience.

I’m all for champagne, but the truffle popcorn is

But while the champagne yurt gets all the attention, there are 5 incredible dining options not to be overlooked.

  • Apex – a mountain American grill inspired by the freshest farm to table ingredients
  • Daly’s Pub & Rec – a gourmet Gastro-pub in a playful and entertaining setting offering your favorite pastimes
  • Vista Lounge & Terrace – an authentic mountain great room featuring awe inspiring views, hand crafted cocktails and Asian-inspired small plates and desserts
  • Yama Sushi – a stylish winter dining venue featuring the freshest sushi and sashimi in an intimate setting overlooking the Empire ski runs
  • Buzz – espresso bar offering beverages, gourmet to-go items, and confections

Visit Main Street

Park City offers amazing year-round activities including hiking, biking, golf and fly-fishing. In addition, Park City’s Main Street offers shopping, dining, cultural events and festivals, all just minutes from the resort.

501 On Main was the perfect casual lunch spot.  The second floor dining room had a fire place and a great view of the street below.  It’s a great choice for gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian diets.  Plus, the  Bloody Mary could have been my meal.
